He told Rancho that they should meet at the same place, and at the same time. Before Chatur had challenged Rancho on who will be the most successful one between them. I, myself, did not see that coming.īut before anything else, in the movie, his friends together with Chatur Ramalingam, whose nickname is “Silencer”, decided to be on a journey to find Rancho. He never faltered once even in the face of his love, Pia Sahastrabuddhe, Virus’s younger daughter.
He met and befriend a lot of people in the movie and never once failed to introduce himself as Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad. Shocking right? It was the biggest plot twist in the movie. For the whole college years until they graduated he lived with the lie that he is Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad. As I’ve said he lived his life with his own rules and not with what the society wants but he also lived with a lie just like any other character in the movie. Though the character of Rancho was not really perfect. He was not afraid to conventions at every stage he was described as a free-spirited bird. When everyone was like a robot, blindly following their professor’s command, Rancho did not. He was not scared not to talk back to his professor when he knows he has a point. But all of this has been brought to an end when the character of Rancho comes in. Outside, it may seem natural for all of them: the entire student’s committing suicide and such. Many had turned a blind eye of what’s truly happening inside the school. Not just the school but also the professors and instructors inside. In the movie entitled, three idiots, Rancho’s character had conspicuously addressed the school’s way of teaching and training the students especially in college. And what we want will lead us not just to success but also to our life’s fulfillment. Yes, they may know what’s good for us but we also know what we want. It doesn’t mean that what the society dictates, or even what our parents wants us to do will shape our future. It may seem hard at first because no one will hardly support you of your decisions in life but the character of Rancho will let us think twice of our life decisions. He may look as a stubborn person at first but as the movie progresses until the end, you’ll soon realize that the character of Rancho plays the role of the people living their life with the knowledge of knowing what they truly want for their future.
Among the three, he had been not scared of doing what he think is right. He does not live his life according to what the society wants, he lives with his own rules.
Rancho’s character in the movie was not just being a genius among them but also he’s the optimistic one.
He is one of the main cast in the movie three idiots. Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad known as “Rancho” was played by Aamir Khan.
